Vehicle tracking is playing a key role in helping many US businesses to operate more efficiently and in turn reduce their costs. Another common advantage, that was ‘unexpected’ by many employers, is that these systems are helping to motivate their staff to improve which in turn is increasing productivity.
For many businesses that are in the process of considering or actually installing a vehicle tracking system, it is common for there to be concerns as to how it will be received by employees. There are some businesses whose employees have objected to tracking being installed, but if handled correctly by the employer these objections can be easily overcome.
Vehicle tracking systems are able to generate reports based on driver/vehicle performance and activity. Many businesses have taken the initiative and used these reports to produce league tables which see the best performing drivers receiving rewards and those employees that are not doing so well getting the support and training they need to do a better job and be more successful in the company.
Businesses that inform their employees that a tracking system will be introduced often notice a marked improvement in productivity from day 1 of the tracking system being installed. Many individuals often work harder and remain focused when they know that they are being monitored or supervised more closely.
