There are 2 main types of vehicle tracking system, these are fleet management and stolen vehicle recovery tracking systems. Fleet management systems are for businesses that require greater visibility over their fleets movements and insight into their driver’s daily performance. These systems help businesses to reduce the operating costs of their fleet by making significant savings on fuel, vehicle maintenance and overtime costs whilst at the same time increasing driver productivity.
Stolen vehicle recovery tracking systems substantially increase the security of vehicles. When a vehicle is stolen these systems are used to help the owner to ensure that their vehicle is recovered as quickly as possible. These systems are popular amongst both individuals and businesses that own vehicles that are at a high risk of being stolen.
In addition to these systems many parents throughout the US are installing tracking systems into their vehicles to monitor their teenagers that are using the vehicle. This provides added peace of mind for the parent knowing that their child is safe and allows them to ensure that their teenager is driving the vehicle responsibly.
