Although not new to us Fleet Tracking is continuing to help businesses with a Mobile Workforce as it itself continues to develop and ensure companies such as field sales and services can run an effective and efficient operation.
Tracking companies such as Navman Wireless are continually developing their systems. Of late they have announce updates to their in vehicle hardware and backend online AVL2 system. This utilises Google Maps and enables companies to have graphical management of their fleet.
New features also include driver id, a touch screen and built in Bluetooth for the use of hands free phone. Not only this but the device can be removed from a vehicle and used as a separate GPS unit.
Navman’s system can track where any vehicle is and can also be used as a messaging platform. This platform brings the assignment of jobs and visibility of when the ignition is on or off. With this information being able to be passed to the driver, they longer have to return to the office to pick up paperwork regarding the first or next job.
Driver history as to routes taken and time travelled can be looked back on at any given time.
Navman’s headquarters are based in Chicago and has around 74 staff at its North Shore Auckland based premises.
