American Security Logistics recently announced that they had selected AT&T to provide them with wireless connected trracking devices so that they can track anything from valuables to pets.
The first application to go live is said to be an an exclusive live global tracking system for AIRDEX cargo pallet shipments and they are currently developing the devices for monitoring children, pets and patients with Alzheimers which American Security Logistics are hoping to launch very soon.
The live tracking application however is set to monitor cargo shipments, able to monitor individual pallets with a 24 hour day management information service bureau to which data will be delivered to. This device will provide businesses with peace of mind in the transition period of their goods and help with the anxiety they face in transporting these goods over a vast area.
This systems is set to offer the first live connection device that can track high value shipments at pallet level as the lightweight device can be discreetly fitted to individual pallets. Businesses shipping goods can check on the environmental conditions surrounding their pallet, set up geofences and make live enquiries as to the exact location of their pallet.
In the past only bar code devices and RFID event scanning devices have been used to track shipments for the military and sea freight containers as this has not been a practical way of tracking individual pallets and now this is possible it opens up a huge new market.
